Trade in unused craft supplies for new to you supplies.
Bozeman Public Library is offering a Creative Hobby Supply Swap. This swap is a great chance of exchanging new or like new supplies for hobbies and crafts you’re no longer interested in for other supplies for things that you might be interested in trying out. Consider the swap when you’re cleaning out your closets and you find that stack of cardstock from 2015 when you got really into card making! Please bring items that are in good condition, like new or new, and no UFOs (unfinished objects). Popular swap items include fabric, yarn, tools, equipment, and fine art supplies such as canvases and paints.
The entire event takes place on Sunday, October 13th from opening until closing. Here’s how it will work:
1. Bring new or like new items to the library at 1pm the day of the event. Items will be sorted and set up by library staff and volunteers. You’ll receive tokens for the approximate number of items you dropped off.
2. The Swap will start at 2:00pm and those with tokens will have first opportunity to browse the swap.
3. From 3:30pm to 5:00pm the swap opens to the general public (those without tokens) to pick up anything that remains.
4. After 5pm (when the library closes) all unclaimed items will be donated to the library for future programming or to local organizations.
Please note: we are not accepting donations of old and used children's school and craft supplies. Or items that could be considered recycling or packaging materials. Items must be in good condition to be entered into the swap and we hope all participants intend to participate in the swap.
For questions or to volunteer on the day of the swap, email Liz DeVries at edevries@bozeman.net. You can also call us at (406) 582-2410.
